Yes. When using the LUMEN IMPRA iOS app with a compatible LUMEN impression device, peeks can still be received while your phone is locked.
LUMEN Pro Club users can receive text recognition through supported viewing devices, and drawings can be sent by pressing the device button, even when the phone remains locked. This allows the phone to stay out of view while information continues moving through the system.
Drawing speed and availability can vary depending on the connected viewing device. For example, PeekSmith may display drawings more slowly due to iOS limitations.
Before leaving for a performance, connect your LUMEN device to the LUMEN IMPRA iOS app and make a quick test impression, such as a small squiggle, to confirm the connection is working correctly.
Once confirmed, go to Perform mode, then lock or minimize the app before turning the device off. When you arrive at the gig, turn the device back on and it should automatically reconnect, allowing your setup to continue without repeating the full connection process.
This routine helps confirm everything is working before you leave, while keeping setup at the venue as simple as possible.
For the most reliable Apple Watch experience, we recommend enabling Always-On Display, Background App Refresh, and notifications for the LUMEN IMPRA app.
You should also set your watch wake duration to 70 seconds. This keeps the display active longer during performance and reduces the need to repeatedly wake the screen while viewing impressions.
All LUMEN devices retain their charge for extended periods when properly shut off after charging. In practice, a fully charged device that has been powered down correctly will hold its charge for weeks. You can charge your device days before a performance with complete confidence, provided you follow the shutdown procedure: double tap the power button to turn the device off after removing it from the charger.
Yes. Magnets can put a LUMEN impression pad into sleep mode, turn the device off, or affect performance depending on the product and how close the magnet is to the unit.
Yes. We manufacture the Signature Sharpie, an electronic Sharpie designed to work with all LUMEN impression devices except the LUMEN Stage. The Signature Sharpie is available now in our store. Additional pen and marker options are currently in development.
The top cover is designed to open naturally in one direction. In the latest version, we have reinforced the internal wiring and top cover to improve structural durability. However, bending it backward is still not recommended, as repeated force in that direction can compromise the device over time. A single instance is unlikely to cause an issue. When handing the Mini to a spectator, positioning it already open in the correct orientation removes this concern entirely.
The Mini V2 is a self-contained everyday carry. It functions as a standalone impression pad and pen that feels natural in any casual setting. If you already carry an ungimmicked pad and pen as part of your daily kit, the Mini V2 integrates into that habit without changing your workflow.
The Trilogy V3 is a modular system. It separates the impression device from any single format, allowing you to seat the same gimmick inside a wallet, a card box, a Post-it note pad, or a miniature clipboard. For working professionals who move between corporate events, walkabout, and social settings, that flexibility means you adapt the method to the context rather than carrying a dedicated setup for each one. It also gives repeat audiences a different visual experience each time without changing your core technology.
In short: the Mini V2 is the right choice when you know the setting and want the cleanest possible carry. The Trilogy V3 is the right choice when you need one device to work across every scenario you'll encounter.

No. A typical stack of cards or billets should not block the signal during normal use.
However, completely enclosing SPECTRA in your hands may temporarily interrupt the connection. If that happens, release the device or adjust your handling and the connection should restore once the signal is no longer blocked.
SPECTRA takes approximately two hours to fully charge using the magnetic charging cable.
A full charge provides roughly 20 hours of typical use, though battery life can vary depending on how often impressions are received and how the device is used during performance.
The LUMEN Signature Sharpie uses standard Sharpie ink, so dedicated Signature Sharpie refills are not sold separately on the Audience Wonderland website.
To refill your Signature Sharpie, you can use ink from a regular Sharpie or Super Sharpie purchased from a store. This allows you to continue using the pen without needing a proprietary refill cartridge.
Sharpie ink performance can be affected by how the pen is stored between uses. For best results, store your LUMEN Sharpie flat in its box or holder when not in use. A horizontal position helps keep the ink evenly distributed and reduces the chance of the nib drying out.
Storing the pen with the nib facing down can help keep ink at the tip, but it may increase the risk of leaking if too much ink collects in one place. Storing it with the nib facing up is not recommended, as the ink can drain away from the tip and cause the nib to dry out more quickly.
If your Sharpie has been drying out with low usage, try storing it flat between performances and checking the nib before use.

Hardware orders are shipped using a tracked courier service whenever possible. Smaller accessories, including pens, paper refills, replacement parts, and other low-risk items, may be sent using a standard shipping option when tracking is not required.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email with any available tracking details. Delivery times vary depending on your location, the shipping method selected, and the carrier handling your order.
Pre-order timelines vary by product. If an item is listed as a pre-order, please refer to the product page for the most accurate shipping estimate.
Use a standard 5V USB port or 5V USB wall adapter when charging your LUMEN device.
Do not use fast chargers, iPad or laptop charging bricks, high-output adapters, or fast-charge USB ports. These power sources may deliver more power than the device is designed to receive and can damage the charging system.
All LUMEN devices are permanently sealed units. The battery, impression pad, and Bluetooth antenna are integrated into the housing and are not user-replaceable or removable. This sealed construction is a deliberate engineering decision to maintain the invisible profile that defines the device. There are no accessible internals, no removable panels, and nothing for a spectator to discover during handling. If your device develops a fault within the warranty period, contact our support team for a full replacement.
JSON is the correct format for Custom URL polling in the LUMEN IMPRA iOS app.
When setting up polling from a Custom URL inside Display Info From Other Apps, make sure you are also polling the correct field from the JSON response. If the URL is valid but the selected field is incorrect, the data may not display as expected on your connected LUMEN peek device.
Use the Validate URL API feature inside LUMEN IMPRA to confirm the URL is working and that the correct data is being received.
Please also note that connected LUMEN peek devices only update from a Custom URL when the information changes. After the URL has been set up, validated, and enabled, send a new word, value, or updated piece of information from the source app so your LUMEN device has new data to display.
Pi Revelations in LUMEN is part of SpinOFF. SpinOFF is available free to LUMEN Pro Club users.
In the LUMEN IMPRA iOS app, connect your LUMEN impression device and your PeekSmith 3. Open the SpinOFF tab, turn SpinOFF on, then scroll to Enable for PeekSmith and turn that on as well.
Next, select PeekSmith SpinOFF Features. For the first feature, choose Pi Revelations. If you only want to use Pi Revelations, delete any unused second feature so it does not take up unnecessary screen space on your peek device.
Return to the Home screen in LUMEN IMPRA and select Perform. When you write a four-digit number, PeekSmith should display the number at the top, with the corresponding page, line, and place information shown below it.
QPAL is most commonly used as a bridge between LUMEN and other apps, shortcuts, or web-based tools. It allows performers to retrieve information, preview what has been entered, and then redirect the spectator or device to a chosen URL or function.
One practical use is to have a spectator enter information on a device, allowing you to preview the full canvas or captured data without using your phone or a separate peek device. From there, QPAL can redirect the spectator to a specific website, search result, shortcut, or app function as part of the routine structure.
Some performers use QPAL for prediction workflows, app integrations, or shortcut-based routines where information needs to be captured before another action happens on the device. Because redirects can sometimes behave differently depending on the phone, browser, or network provider, we recommend testing your setup fully before performance and using the most stable redirect option for your routine.
